"Kelly Ruby’s agency has been completely lacking in proactive service. Premiums kept going up—including a nearly 300% increase on my umbrella policy—and not once did anyone reach out with a heads-up or suggestions to help manage the cost. What’s worse is that with just a few seconds of effort, someone could’ve seen that my auto policy had unusually low deductibles. By adjusting them to a more reasonable level myself, I reduced my annual premium by almost the total amount of those deductibles—combined! That’s the kind of obvious recommendation any attentive agent should have made—but didn’t. Instead, when I raised these concerns with someone on her staff, Kelly emailed me personally to accuse me of yelling—which is absolutely false and frankly insulting. I was direct, not disrespectful. If you’re considering this agency, know what you’re signing up for. If you want an agent who’s proactive, accountable, and professional, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. FINAL UPDATE: Let’s be honest: Kelly Ruby’s response to my review wasn’t just unprofessional—it was embarrassingly petty and defensive. Instead of addressing my concerns, she used the Google review system to retaliate, then doubled down with a Facebook video to vent publicly. In it, she referenced notes from a nearly two-year-old call—then winked at the camera, as if that proved something. She later emailed me those notes, which are a scribbled mess. Apparently, asking me in 2023 if I wanted to raise my deductible is supposed to count as proactive service—even in the face of a 300% premium spike two years later. That’s not how any responsible agent should operate. Policy management requires ongoing attention, not a “gotcha” reference to years-old notes. Quoting them in her video and referencing my specific coverage choices in her public response crosses a line I frankly didn’t expect from someone in her position. She also emailed me with explanations about the rate increases—but not once picked up the phone to have a real conversation. In fact, after her staff scheduled a call with me, she emailed me to cancel it. All that effort to write a public rebuttal, send emails, and post a video… but no time to actually talk. She defended the idea that “we can’t physically call everyone” about rate increases. So not only does she admit the service gap—she justifies it. What she doesn’t seem to grasp is that if your business grows beyond your ability to support it, the answer isn’t to lower your standards—it’s to scale your service. To be clear, I wasn’t blaming her for the rate increases. I was reviewing her agency’s lack of proactive support—and now how she responded when a longtime customer gave honest, constructive feedback. You have choices. Choose an agent who earns your business consistently—not just when it’s convenient, and not by citing old scribbles to excuse nearly two years of neglect."

Rate adjustments are determined by State Farm at the corporate level and are not set in our local office. We communicate changes through the renewal declaration page sent at least 30 days in advance, and we’re always happy to review those details and explore options to help manage costs. In fact, during our policy review in November 2023, we discussed higher deductible options to lower your premium, which you chose not to move forward with at that time. While I understand that these conversations can be emotional, our goal is always to treat customers respectfully and expect the same in return. My team works hard to assist all clients, even in challenging situations, and it’s important for us to maintain a professional and respectful environment for both customers and employees.
